Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay recently brought attention to a longstanding issue plaguing the music industry in the country – the lack of a robust structure to reward and support veteran musicians. Shay’s heartfelt lamentation came during an appearance on the New Day show on TV3, where she discussed the plight of legendary musician KK Kabobo, currently battling liver disease.

Shay expressed deep concern for musicians like KK Kabobo, highlighting the absence of a comprehensive system to recognize and compensate those who have significantly contributed to the growth and development of the music scene. This void in the industry leaves revered artists facing financial challenges, especially during times of health crises.
