In the wake of the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), a playful feud has emerged between Ghanaian artists KiDi and Mr Drew. The controversy centers around the Collaboration of the Year award, which Mr Drew believes should have gone to his song “Case,” featuring Mophty.
“Case” was a strong contender in the Collaboration of the Year category, competing against several high-profile collaborations, including KiDi’s “Liquor,” featuring Stonebwoy. The category also included O’Kenneth and Xlimkid’s “Lonely Road,” Oseikrom Sikani and Kweku Smoke’s “Twatis,” Amerado’s “Kwaku Ananse Remix,” FRA and Nana Yaw Ofori Atta’s “You Dey Feel The Vibe,” and Akwaboah’s “My Darling” with Kwabena Kwabena. Ultimately, it was KiDi and Stonebwoy’s “Liquor” that took home the award.
In a recent interview on 3Music TV, Mr Drew did not hide his disappointment. He asserted that “Case” was the most impactful song in the category, noting its success and the fact that it featured an emerging artist, Mophty. According to Mr Drew, the song’s immediate popularity underscored its significance.

Reacting to Mr Drew’s remarks, KiDi took to social media with a light-hearted jab. On X (formerly known as Twitter), KiDi quoted Mr Drew’s statement and attached a video clip of someone chewing meat and laughing, with a background of hearty laughter. This post seemed to poke fun at Mr Drew’s confidence in his song’s impact.
The exchange between KiDi and Mr Drew highlights the competitive spirit within the Ghanaian music industry, where artists often vie for recognition and accolades. While the playful mockery from KiDi adds a humorous dimension to the rivalry, it also underscores the passion and dedication that both artists have for their craft.
