Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation Raphael Atatsi Camidoh, popularly known as Camidoh, has voiced his desire to achieve a legacy akin to that of the legendary Michael Jackson. The singer-songwriter, renowned for his hit song ‘Adoley,’ discussed his career aspirations and the dedication he pours into his craft during an interview on TV3’s Afternoon Show.
Camidoh revealed that creating music is a labor-intensive process for him, driven by his goal to make songs that are deeply relatable to his audience. He explained, “It takes a lot of work for me to make my music and that’s why when it comes out, it feels very relatable because then I have to sing with a lot of passion. Just so when the next man listening those emotions can be communicated, so this is what the music is talking about.”
The artist underscored his ambition to connect with listeners on an emotional level, similar to the way Michael Jackson did with his music. “I want to be legendary like Michael Jackson,” Camidoh stated. “You know when you listen to him you can really feel. When he says heal the world, you actually feel that he wants to heal the world and that’s the kind of artiste I want to be.”
In addition to sharing his musical aspirations, Camidoh spoke about his latest single, ‘NFL (Breakfast).’ The track reflects on a personal heartbreak, which, despite its challenges, allowed him to spend more time with his family, particularly his mother. He also mentioned seeking therapy and advice from friends to help him through the difficult period.
