Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene recently opened up about the harrowing car accident he experienced on Sunday, March 17, 2024. In an exclusive interview with Adinkra Multimedia NY, the “Canopy” hitmaker recounted the events leading up to the crash, which took place at CP, near the DSTV office in Accra.
Kuami Eugene shared that upon his return to Ghana, he was approached by an underground artist eager to record a song. Despite having a home studio in East Legon Hills, Kuami Eugene chose to work at his Rockstar Made It studio in Achimota to accommodate the collaboration.
After completing the recording session, most of the studio attendees headed home, except for one gentleman who was uncertain about how to get back. In a gesture of kindness, Kuami Eugene decided to drop him off at Lapaz, altering his usual route to help the gentleman save on transportation costs.

As Kuami Eugene made a U-turn to join the main road after dropping the man off, he encountered a potential hazard. He noticed that the street cameras on the Achimota stretch emitted a very bright light, designed to capture the vehicles using that route. This unexpected glare contributed to the unfortunate accident.
The incident serves as a reminder of the unforeseen dangers that can arise on the road and highlights Kuami Eugene’s goodwill in assisting a fellow musician.
