In a revealing interview with MzGee on the show ‘Just Being Us,’ Kweku Flick discussed his passion for sports betting, explaining how he would predict sports outcomes and place bets accordingly. The earnings from these bets provided much-needed financial support for his music career during a time when he had no management to back him.
“I didn’t have any management, so I staked bets and used the money to pay for things,” Kweku Flick explained. His resourcefulness during this period enabled him to continue creating music and paying for studio time and other expenses.

Reflecting on his journey, Kweku Flick also recalled a pivotal moment during an interview on TV3’s New Day Eid-ul-Adha edition in 2023. He shared how, in 2019, he used winnings from a bet to fund the recording of his first project. At the time, he was facing significant financial challenges but decided to take a risk and place a bet, which won him 300 Ghana Cedis. This money was crucial in helping him kickstart his music career.
