John Bredu Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the hit Ghanaian series YOLO, has launched a fundraising campaign to secure $280,000 for crucial medical treatment overseas.

The actor, beloved by many for his role in the youth-centered drama, revealed that he has been battling demyelination since March 2024, a condition that has taken a severe toll on his health and finances.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 14, Drogba shared his gratitude for the support he has received so far, particularly from Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and close friends. However, he noted that the ongoing expenses for his treatment have drained his resources, making it impossible to continue without additional help.

Drogba explained that the funds are urgently needed to cover his specialized treatment at a Pain Rehabilitation Center abroad. The care includes advanced therapies such as IVIG therapy and plasma exchange, both of which are vital for his recovery but come with a hefty price tag. Additionally, he has been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea Syndrome, further complicating his condition and requiring the use of a CPAP machine to assist with his breathing at night.

The actor is appealing to his fans and the general public to contribute to his GoFundMe campaign, emphasizing that every donation counts. “Any contribution, big or small, will be welcomed with gratitude and will help support my medical expenses,” Drogba wrote in his post.

As Drogba continues to fight this battle, he remains hopeful that with the support of his fans and well-wishers, he will be able to access the life-saving treatment he desperately needs.
