Nigerian actor and entrepreneur, Williams Uchemba, recently took to social media to offer some blunt advice to women regarding their relationships with men.
In a video posted on his official Facebook page, Uchemba addressed what he perceives as a growing issue among women—the tendency to make extravagant demands from men.
Uchemba argued that some women’s sense of entitlement is a significant reason they remain single. He emphasized that women should reconsider their approach, suggesting that instead of demanding things from men, they should appeal for what they need. According to him, making unreasonable requests can strain relationships and discourage men from committing.
“Ladies listen, there is a law that says anything you cannot afford do not request it in a restaurant,” Uchemba began. “There is a mentality that is creeping in most women in this generation and this is the reason you say there is no husband.

I don’t think you have any business requesting things that you can never get to afford in your wildest dreams, even if you work for 10 years, from a man.”
He continued by cautioning against what he termed a “spirit of greed,” urging women to avoid asking men for luxury items like G-Wagons or the latest iPhone if they cannot afford them on their own. Uchemba stressed that such demands are not only unreasonable but also reflect poorly on one’s character.
“There is a difference between appealing and requesting,” he added. “When a wife wants to ask for something, she does not request it, she appeals to the husband. There is nothing wrong in appealing, but those women who think it is their right have a problem.”
Uchemba concluded by advising women to focus on their character rather than material demands, pointing out that genuine qualities are what truly attract and keep a man. “That thing you think keeps a man is temporary,” he warned. “Wait until you give birth. Do not place value on those, place value on your character.”
The actor’s comments have sparked conversations about expectations in relationships, with some agreeing with his perspective while others find it controversial. However, Uchemba remains firm in his belief that women should reconsider their approach to relationships if they wish to find lasting love.
