The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has released an additional GHC 151 million to healthcare providers across Ghana.

This move, announced in an August 17 press release signed by the Acting CEO, Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye, is aimed at clearing outstanding claims and ensuring the continuous delivery of healthcare services under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The funds are allocated to cover claims up to March 2024 for higher-tier healthcare facilities, while most lower-tier providers will receive payments for claims through April 2024.

This disbursement is part of the NHIA’s broader strategy to support healthcare providers and maintain the efficiency of the NHIS.

The NHIA reiterated its commitment to working closely with healthcare providers, recognizing their vital role in the success of the NHIS, and assured that it will continue to engage with stakeholders to address any ongoing concerns and promote a sustainable healthcare system in the country.
