Ghanaian musician Pope Skinny has opened up about the invaluable lessons he learned from his close association with Shatta Wale.
During an interview on Accra FM, the rapper revealed that his time with the dancehall star had a lasting impact on his life, especially in terms of confidence and financial management.
“One thing I learned from Shatta Wale is confidence,” Pope Skinny shared. “He showed me how to carry myself and be bold in whatever I do.” He further disclosed that Shatta Wale also imparted valuable financial lessons, such as the importance of saving and making smart money decisions. “Shatta saves a lot,” Pope Skinny said, crediting the musician for inspiring him to adopt better financial habits.
The rapper also took the opportunity to clear up rumors that Shatta Wale bought him a Mercedes Benz. “I actually bought the Benz myself.
We went to NAM1’s show, and during an interview, Shatta announced that we had welcomed a new Benz into the family. He never said he bought it for me,” Pope Skinny explained, dismissing the widespread misconception.
Reflecting on their past friendship, Pope Skinny expressed his regret over their falling out, admitting that he misses Shatta Wale.
He defended the dancehall star, arguing that Shatta Wale is often misunderstood due to his outspoken nature. “Shatta is not the type to attack unless he’s provoked,” he noted, emphasizing that his former friend is frequently misjudged and painted in a negative light.
Despite their differences, Pope Skinny’s admiration for Shatta Wale’s influence on his life remains evident, underscoring the profound impact of their shared experiences.
