Ghanaian music sensation Sefa, born Sefadzi Abena Amesu, recently addressed the widespread belief that secular artists lack spiritual grounding.
Speaking on Asaase 995’s Rush Hour with Elvis Crystal, she debunked the notion that choosing a secular music path implies a rejection of faith, emphasizing that one’s belief in God can coexist with a career in mainstream music.
“Just because someone performs secular music doesn’t mean they don’t have faith or believe in a higher power,” she explained.
According to Sefa, spirituality is a deeply personal matter, often separate from the public eye. “True faith is about what’s in your heart, not about outward appearances,” she added, calling for a broader understanding of spirituality beyond mere appearances.
The singer also opened up about taking a brief hiatus to prioritize her well-being, sharing how the pressures of constantly living up to expectations caused her to lose a sense of who she was.
“I reached a point where I needed to pause and reassess my life,” she admitted. This time away allowed her to rediscover herself and focus on what truly matters.
Now back in the spotlight, Sefa has released her latest single, “All Over,” featuring Camido, symbolizing her renewed dedication to her art and personal journey.
The song marks a fresh chapter in her career as she balances her spiritual beliefs with her musical ambitions.
