Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall icon, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known widely as Stonebwoy, has shed light on how he navigates the challenges of public criticism in the music industry.

During an in-depth conversation on Onua Showtime with McBrown on Sunday, November 3, 2024, the multi-award-winning artist revealed that he seeks spiritual guidance and inner strength to discern when to respond to negative remarks and when to remain silent.

Stonebwoy, famous for hits like Jejereje, acknowledged that while experience has taught him valuable lessons, dealing with harsh words is never easy. “Insults are not something we should get used to,” he stated.

“I don’t believe we were put on this earth to become numb to negativity. I rely on prayer for divine wisdom to know when to speak, when to stay silent, and how to heal.”

The celebrated artist likened public criticism to the saying, “only a ripe fruit gets pelted with stones,” emphasizing that success often invites undue attention and harsh judgment.

Yet, he remains committed to his craft, choosing to focus on his music and growth rather than succumbing to the urge to react to every attack.

Stonebwoy shared that even recent experiences have tested his resolve, mentioning a morning when harsh words came his way. However, he continues to rise above the fray, trusting his faith and experience to guide his decisions. “It’s a delicate balance of knowing when to step back and when to push forward,” he noted. “I pray for discernment to handle these moments because it’s not easy.”

The artist’s approach underscores a profound message about resilience, patience, and staying true to oneself amidst the noise of public life.
