In an interview with Joy News, Amerado asserted that since the release of his hit song Kwaku Ananse—both the original and the remix—no Nigerian song has secured the number one spot on Ghana’s music charts. He credited this shift to the resurgence of highlife and rap music, led by artists like Fameye and King Paluta.

“Humbly, I can emphatically state that it started from the time I released Kwaku Ananse,” Amerado remarked. “Since then, there hasn’t been any Nigerian song topping the charts in Ghana. And I’m super proud of my brothers that they are also dropping highlife music.”

The award-winning rapper emphasized that his statement was not meant to provoke or downplay Nigerian artists but rather to celebrate the achievements of Ghanaian musicians who are consistently producing quality highlife and rap songs.

He concluded by encouraging his fellow artists to continue pushing highlife music, ensuring that Ghanaian sounds remain dominant and influential both locally and globally.
