Ghanaian singer Mr. Drew has revealed that his signature bald hairstyle, while stylish and unique, comes with its own set of challenges—especially when it comes to outdoor video shoots during the day.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, the Shuperu hitmaker admitted that shooting under the sun is a struggle due to the direct heat on his exposed scalp.
“I don’t like daytime shoots at all. The sun shines directly on my head, and it gives me a headache. It’s not easy, chale,” he said in Pidgin.
Despite this, Mr. Drew acknowledged that being bald has its perks, particularly when it comes to saving money on grooming.

“I don’t spend money at the barber because I shave my head myself. If a barber makes any money off me, it’s only because of my beard,” he joked.
Explaining why he chose the bald look, the singer noted that he wanted to stand out in an industry where many artists opt for dreadlocks or other trendy hairstyles.
“I wanted something different, something that would make me unique,” he said.
Interestingly, Mr. Drew clarified that his baldness is a personal choice, not a result of hair loss, adding that he can grow his hair back anytime he wants.
While his bald look has become an iconic part of his brand, his experience highlights an often-overlooked challenge of maintaining such a style in a tropical climate.
