Renowned DJ and member of the Akwaaba UK team, DJ Mensah, has made it clear that their group will not reschedule their upcoming event to accommodate Stonebwoy’s album tour in the UK.
Speaking on Hitz FM on February 20, 2025, DJ Mensah emphasized that Akwaaba UK has consistently hosted its annual Independence Day concert and has no plans to alter its schedule.
“I want to make it clear that we are not here to sabotage anyone. Akwaaba UK has been organizing this event every year, and we are going ahead with it as planned,” DJ Mensah stated.

His response follows claims by Stonebwoy’s manager, Chief Stylz, who recently accused Akwaaba UK and Alordia of attempting to sabotage the dancehall musician’s tour by scheduling their event on the same day, March 8.
Despite the controversy, DJ Mensah reiterated that Akwaaba UK remains open to future collaborations with Stonebwoy but is firm on maintaining its Independence Day tradition.
With both events set to take place on the same date, fans now have a tough choice to make regarding which concert to attend.
