Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Thomas Adjei Wireko, popularly known as King Paluta, has set his sights on winning the prestigious Artist of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Neat FM on Monday, March 4, 2025, King Paluta highlighted his remarkable achievements over the past year, stating that his consistency, hit songs, and overall impact on the industry make him a strong contender for the top honor.
The rapper emphasized that he released four chart-topping songs—Odo Bi Ye Bad, Aseda, Makoma, and For the Popping (Apicki)—which gained massive airplay in Ghana and beyond. In addition, he featured on over 40 songs, performed at 115 shows, and successfully released an album.

“Last year, I was named TGMA Best New Artist of the Year, which is a stepping stone to this moment. I have worked even harder this year, dropping back-to-back hits and making my presence felt worldwide. It is only right that I win the ultimate award this time,” he stated confidently.
Despite his impressive achievements, King Paluta has yet to headline a major concert, which is often a key factor in securing the Artist of the Year title. However, he defended this by explaining that his focus on international engagements limited his ability to organize a major local event.
“I had to meet the demands of my global audience. My music went beyond Ghana, and I had to take advantage of the opportunity to expand my reach,” he explained.
Aside from the Artist of the Year category, King Paluta is also hopeful of winning other major awards, including Best Collaboration and Most Popular Song of the Year, given his dominance in the industry.
