Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Okoro has responded fiercely to a misleading Facebook post that falsely quoted her as sharing intimate details about her love life.

The viral post, which appeared on May 15, 2025, has drawn sharp criticism from the actress’s legal team, who accuse the vlogger behind the platform Naija Boss Vlog of spreading a completely fabricated narrative.

The post claimed to quote Okoro as admitting to being “dumped many times” and struggling emotionally due to failed relationships — a portrayal her lawyers have dismissed as baseless and harmful.

In a formal letter from Mo Law Consult, Okoro’s attorneys labeled the publication “false, malicious, and defamatory,” stating unequivocally that the actress never made such comments. The legal notice adds that the false attribution not only invades her privacy but also risks damaging her reputation and career.

“This is not just a careless post,” the letter asserts. “It is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and portray our client in a false light.”

Okoro’s legal team has demanded the immediate removal of the content, a formal public apology, and the retraction of the post across all platforms where it appeared. The vlogger has until 7 p.m. on May 16 to comply or face legal consequences.

The incident has ignited broader conversations around media responsibility, celebrity privacy, and the consequences of online defamation.

As more African entertainers confront false stories online, Okoro’s firm stance signals a rising intolerance for the unchecked spread of misinformation in the digital space.
