Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Basintale made his intentions clear, expressing interest in collaborating with Shatta Wale to transform Shaxi into a major, fully Ghanaian-owned enterprise that could significantly boost job creation across the country.
“Dear @shattawalegh, As CEO of YEA, my mind dey!!! Let’s partner to make shaxi, Ghanaian owned big Hear from you soon!” Basintale posted.
His message followed a viral video shared by Shatta Wale, in which the artist called on both the government and private sector to rally behind Shaxi. The video has since sparked renewed interest in the initiative, with many lauding it as a game-changing solution to unemployment.
Shatta Wale, known for his bold advocacy for youth empowerment, emphasized that Shaxi is more than a transportation service — it is a digital innovation built to empower young people, create sustainable employment, and inspire a culture of self-driven success.
> “Shaxi is not just a ride-hailing service — it’s a movement designed to empower the youth,” he stated. “At its core, Shaxi represents a sustainable solution to unemployment and a bold example of what can happen when creativity meets purpose.”
With Basintale’s offer on the table, many are hopeful that a YEA-Shaxi partnership could mark a significant step toward expanding local businesses and tackling the country’s youth unemployment crisis through innovation and collaboration.
If successful, this alliance could become a benchmark for how public-private partnerships can drive meaningful change and support homegrown entrepreneurship in Ghana.
