Ghanaian rap sensation King Paluta is over the moon after learning that his hit single Aseda has been featured in the 2024/2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), marking a significant moment in his career and the Ghanaian music scene.

The track, which has become an anthem of gratitude and reflection, appeared in the Section B part of the Music and Creative Arts paper. Students were asked to reflect on the themes in the song and how they relate to Ghanaian society — a clear indication of the song’s cultural and educational relevance.

Paluta, whose real name is Thomas Adjei Wireko, reacted to the news with visible excitement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, June 17.

“I don’t know if it’s really true but I heard there was a question in the BECE exams today about me. I’m popping the champagne already,” he wrote, expressing both disbelief and joy.

The exam question referenced his musical style, known for its fusion of indigenous Ghanaian storytelling and modern hip-hop beats. One question asked students to identify two social issues addressed in Aseda, showing how his lyrics have moved beyond entertainment to become educational tools.

This milestone reflects not only King Paluta’s growing impact in the music industry but also the increasing recognition of Ghanaian creative arts as valuable educational resources. Fans and educators alike have praised the decision to include his work in the national exams, with many seeing it as a step forward in promoting local content in formal education.

From airwaves to exam halls, Aseda continues to echo through the lives of many Ghanaians — and for King Paluta, this achievement is a clear sign that his message is being heard loud and clear.
