Ghanaian singer and actress Yaa Jackson has made it clear that her journey in music is fueled by passion, not the pursuit of plaques and trophies.
Speaking in a recent interview, the Moses crooner shared her thoughts on the role of awards in her career, stating that while recognition is appreciated, it doesn’t determine her worth as an artist.
“I’ve learned to focus on the purpose behind my music. Awards come and go, but the passion that drives me and the support from my fans—that’s what keeps me going,” she said.
Yaa Jackson emphasized that her creative direction is not shaped by industry trends or validation, but by staying true to herself and telling real stories through her music.
The young star, who has been in the entertainment industry since childhood, admitted that fame comes with pressure, but she has learned to rise above the noise and trust her journey.
“I’ve been in the spotlight for years. There’s pressure to fit in, to chase accolades, but I’ve grown to realize that what matters most is impact. If one person listens to my song and feels understood, that’s a win for me,” Yaa added.
On the topic of growth, she also spoke about the importance of evolution and experimenting with new sounds.
“Every new track is a new chapter for me. I’m not boxed in by expectations. I make music that reflects where I am emotionally, spiritually, and artistically.”
Yaa Jackson, who has continued to build her brand with bold visuals and unapologetic lyrics, also took a moment to thank her loyal fan base for riding with her through the highs and lows.
“My fans are everything. They’ve seen me evolve, and their support reminds me daily why I do what I do. Whether I have an award or not, I know I’m already winning in their eyes.”
