In an interview on Joy Prime, aired on July 17, 2025, the “Wish Me Well” singer revealed that after securing his first car following his deal with Lynx Entertainment, he felt an overwhelming urge to revisit familiar places, including one where he hoped to make an impression.

“I went to see my mom first, of course. That was the most important thing to me. She was proud and happy for me,” Eugene stated.

But with the adrenaline and excitement of success still rushing, Kuami Eugene admitted he couldn’t resist the idea of letting a few people from his past witness his progress — especially a former flame.

“After seeing my mom, I passed through Darkuman where my ex’s mom had her salon. I didn’t even stop. I just honked a few times, drove slowly, and made sure people noticed. It was childish, but it felt good,” he laughed.

Though the visit was brief and his ex wasn’t around, the encounter still left a lasting impression — especially on himself. Eugene said the moment was a mix of mischief and motivation, one that reminded him how far he had come.

“Sometimes you just want to say, ‘Look at me now.’ Not out of pride, but as a way of appreciating how far you’ve come from where you started,” he said.

The singer used the story to advise people in relationships not to give up too quickly on each other.

“Give people time to grow. If someone believes in you, that’s worth more than anything,” he added.

Kuami Eugene’s reflection offered a blend of humor, honesty, and inspiration — showing that even petty victories can carry powerful lessons.
