The Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, has released a fresh update from the organisation’s tracking poll, shedding new light on the evolving contest for the NDC’s 2028 flagbearer slot.
The latest figures show a dramatic rise for Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, whose support has jumped from 13% in September 2025 to 28%, placing him neck-and-neck with Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, who also sits at 28%.
NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia follows closely with 24%, while the party’s 2020 running mate and current Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, polls at 7%.
Alternative Scenario: Ato Forson Takes Commanding Lead
The poll also tested a second scenario where both Haruna Iddrisu and Prof. Opoku-Agyemang are excluded from the race. Under this setup, Ato Forson surges to 40%, becoming the clear favourite among committed NDC voters.
He is followed by:
- Asiedu Nketia — 32%
- Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa — 10%
- Julius Debrah — 9%
- Prof. Joshua Alabi — 6%
- Eric Opoku — 3%
Further breakdown shows that of the combined 35% previously held by Haruna and Opoku-Agyemang, Ato Forson attracts 34% of that support.
Asiedu Nketia picks up 24%, Ablakwa 16%, Debrah 13%, Alabi 9%, and Eric Opoku 4%.
