Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, widely known as Medikal, has revealed that the perception people have about his wealth does not reflect his true reality.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Joy Prime, Medikal explained that the flashy lifestyle people see on social media has created a misleading picture of him.

According to him, many fans assume he is financially loaded because of the content he shares online—but that is far from the truth.

“People think I have money, but I don’t have anything. I’m still upcoming,” he said, sparking laughter from the host.

When questioned about the luxury cars and lavish visuals seen in his music videos and online posts, Medikal clarified that those vehicles do not belong to him. He explained that they are often borrowed specifically for creative work, a common practice in the entertainment industry.

“Even artistes like Rick Ross borrow cars for shooting content,” he noted.

Medikal also addressed another misconception—that he is rude. He emphasized that his stage persona and online attitude should not be mistaken for who he is off-camera.

He explained that people who meet him in person are usually surprised by how calm and gentle he is.

“Just like actors who play tough characters in movies, that’s not who they are in real life. I can make a song and diss people, but that doesn’t mean I’m rude personally. That’s not how I am,” Medikal said.
