Stonebwoy Explains Reason Behind Bhim Festival Date ChangeReggae and dancehall heavyweight Stonebwoy has finally addressed public concerns over the sudden change of date for his upcoming Bhim Festival, following days of speculation and reactions online.
The Burniton Music Group boss broke his silence during an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, December 20, 2025, where he offered clarity on the circumstances that led to the rescheduling of the concert.
According to Stonebwoy, the decision was not taken lightly. He explained that while the backlash was understandable, the adjustment became unavoidable after it emerged that another major, government-backed event was scheduled within the same period.
The musician disclosed that he was surprised by the timing of the competing event, noting that industry players are generally aware that the Black Star Experience is usually held on December 29 each year. This development, he said, triggered a series of engagements with stakeholders and authorities in an attempt to prevent a clash.
Despite efforts to reach a compromise, Stonebwoy admitted that the level of official backing behind the other event made it impractical to maintain his original date. He stressed that proceeding under such conditions could have created logistical and crowd-management challenges.
One major concern raised by the BHIM Nation president was the expected congestion around the venue, particularly the use of Independence Square as a parking area for attendees. With two large-scale events running concurrently, the situation could have been chaotic for fans and organisers alike.
Stonebwoy assured supporters that the matter has now been fully resolved and that preparations for the festival are progressing smoothly.
The Bhim Festival, which was initially scheduled for December 26, will now take place on December 24, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, as previously announced.
