After a year-long hiatus, the 3Music Awards are set to make a grand return in September 2024, much to the delight of music enthusiasts across Ghana and beyond.
The announcement came from renowned media practitioner Kelly Nii Lartey Mensah, popularly known as Dr. Kelly, a board member of the Music Awards. Dr. Kelly shared the exciting news on his Facebook page on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
The organizers of the 3Music Awards had earlier announced that the 2023 edition would be postponed. This decision was driven by the need to secure adequate financial support and sponsorship to maintain the event’s high standards.
A previous statement from 3Media Networks highlighted their commitment to excellence and the desire to meet and exceed the expectations of fans and industry stakeholders. “The 3Music Awards has earned immense recognition as a premier celebration of musical talent, captivating audiences and enthusiasts alike. To uphold this standard, rescheduling the event to 2024 will ensure that the 3Music Awards remains an unparalleled experience within the industry,” the statement read.

The organizers assured fans that they have been working tirelessly to gather the necessary resources for a spectacular event next year. Rashida Yasmine Abdualia, CEO of 3Media Networks, also addressed the postponement, emphasizing the company’s dedication to producing an unforgettable event in 2024. “We understand the disappointment this delay may cause, but we want to assure all our stakeholders – industry partners, sponsors, artists, and fans – that we are diligently working behind the scenes to secure the necessary support,” she stated.
