Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, has opened up about a deeply personal aspect of his life as a father, revealing that some of the children he has raised are not biologically his.
Speaking candidly on the Way Up podcast, the award-winning hitmaker said DNA tests have confirmed that certain children he has cared for are not his by blood. Yet, he insists that his love and commitment to them remain unwavering.

“It’s complicated. I have four to six kids, but I know some are not mine. I still take care of them because I don’t want to argue with their mothers. I did DNA,” he disclosed.
Diamond explained that his decision stems from a desire to protect the emotional well-being of the children and avoid unnecessary disputes with their mothers. He believes that stability and peace matter more than biology.
“Sometimes it’s good to let mothers care for the kids because they understand children better. Letting them stay with the mother is the perfect choice in this case,” he said.
The ‘Kanyaga’ crooner also addressed the challenges men face in such circumstances, particularly when emotions, past attachments, and misunderstandings arise.
“Some women will use this as a weapon. You need to know how to control that. Sometimes they need you, they miss you, so when they throw tantrums, it’s because they love you way too much,” he noted.
Diamond, who has had public relationships with Zari Hassan, Hamisa Mobetto, and Tanasha Donna, emphasized the importance of keeping drama out of co-parenting. He said mutual respect and emotional maturity have allowed him to maintain good relationships with all his children’s mothers.
“The mother of your kids moving on is good. Now you can be friends, and there will be less drama. Zari is married, we are cool and we are friends. I’m cool with all my baby mamas,” he added.
Officially, Diamond has acknowledged six children: Latifah Dangote and Prince Nillan with Ugandan entrepreneur Zari Hassan, Dylan Abdul Naseeb with Hamisa Mobetto, and Naseeb Junior with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna. However, he has hinted that there could be more.
In a past episode of Young, Famous & African on Netflix, he joked, “I have four kids. Maybe five, maybe six,” and revealed that a woman once privately confessed to his mother that she had a child with him but kept it secret because she was married.
“My mum told me she met this lady who said she has my kid, but she doesn’t want to tell me because her husband thinks the child is his. My child is 10 years old,” Diamond recalled.
While the revelations have sparked conversations online, Diamond maintains that, for him, fatherhood is about love, responsibility, and peace—not just DNA.
