‎Afrobeats star Gyakie has shared the reason behind featuring Shatta Wale on her song “Harmattan,” describing him as the most fitting artiste for the project.

‎Speaking in an interview on MX24, Gyakie revealed that once the record was completed, Shatta Wale was the only artiste who came to mind because of his unique style and lyrical power.

‎“Harmattan is the third track on the project — I believe third or fourth, and it was with Shatta Wale. Harmattan is a dancehall record produced by Sosa, and if you listen to this track, nobody has to tell you who was supposed to ask which dancehall artiste you think is going to really kill it. Shatta Wale was the perfect person for the song,” she explained.

‎The Forever hitmaker added that Shatta Wale himself was excited about the collaboration when he first heard the beat.

‎“And a big shout out to Julio, he actually made this as smooth as it was. He reached out to Shatta Wale, and then he played a song for him. He listened to it and then he laughed. He even told me how much he was in love with the song. And you can tell with the kind of verse that he gave on the record that was real,” Gyakie revealed.

‎Produced by Sosa, “Harmattan” fuses Gyakie’s soulful vocals with Shatta Wale’s vibrant dancehall energy, creating a collaboration that many fans already describe as a highlight of her project.
