Former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will kick off his nationwide campaign tour on Wednesday, October 15, as part of his efforts to secure the party’s nomination once again for the 2028 general elections.
According to his campaign team, Dr. Bawumia will travel across all 276 constituencies, engaging with delegates, party executives, and grassroots supporters. The tour, they said, is designed to strengthen the bond between the leadership and the base of the party while promoting unity ahead of the next internal elections.

The statement noted that Dr. Bawumia’s approach highlights his “dedication to dialogue, consensus building, and grassroots empowerment.”
However, the team expressed worry about recent tensions within the party, where some internal discussions have degenerated into personal attacks. They called for a focus on issues and mutual respect to uphold the NPP’s core values.
The campaign remains optimistic that Dr. Bawumia’s experience, vision, and track record will earn him overwhelming support from delegates across the country.
