Ghanaian music sensation and the 25th TGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, has firmly refuted claims of his involvement in the abrupt cancellation of Shatta Wale’s performance at the University of Ghana’s Wave Africa Artiste Night on June 8.

Both artists were scheduled for performances on the university campus: Stonebwoy at the Limann Hall karaoke night and Shatta Wale at the JT Nelson Yankah Hall artiste night. However, hours before Shatta Wale’s scheduled performance, the organizers received a directive preventing him from performing, while Stonebwoy’s event proceeded without interruption.

Given the longstanding rivalry between the two artists, speculation quickly spread that Stonebwoy had used his connections to prevent Shatta Wale’s performance. Addressing these rumors during an interview with Asaase Radio on June 12, Stonebwoy categorically denied any involvement. He labeled the accusations as “ridiculous” and emphasized that even if he had the power to influence such decisions, he would not misuse it in this manner.

“I had nothing at all to do with it. So, I am surprised where the accusations are coming from,” Stonebwoy stated during the interview, expressing his bewilderment at the allegations.

The incident has sparked considerable debate among fans and industry insiders, but Stonebwoy’s clear denial aims to put the rumors to rest.
