Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has dismissed claims that she is rude, asserting that her confidence is often misunderstood. According to her, being outspoken and direct does not equate to being disrespectful.

In a recent interview on Joy Prime, the award-winning broadcaster addressed the recurring perception, explaining that while she speaks her mind, she always does so with tact.

“I hear that all the time, and I don’t apologise for it. I don’t understand why people assume I’m rude just because I say things as they are. Most of the time, I’m polite, but my politeness may come off as subtle and sarcastic,” she explained.

Nana Aba further noted that many women hesitate to express themselves confidently due to societal pressures and fear of being labeled negatively. She encouraged women to embrace their abilities without fear of judgment.

“The problem is that many women hold back from expressing themselves because they fear being seen as too forward or too ‘knowing.’ But there’s nothing wrong with owning your abilities and stating what you bring to the table,” she emphasized.

To help empower women, she founded the Women of Valour initiative, aimed at inspiring confidence and self-belief in women across different fields.

Nana Aba’s remarks have since sparked discussions, with many supporting her stance on confidence and female empowerment.
